Welcome to a PPG Houston meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous.
This is an open meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. We’re glad you’re all here — especially the newcomers. Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other — that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership. We are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes.
Each AA group ought to be a spiritual entity, having but one primary purpose — to carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers. This is our primary spiritual aim. This meeting is to provide people with a place to learn about Alcoholics Anonymous and why we work the steps. It has been our experience that working the steps consistently provides us with a better, sober life.

Looking for a sponsor, or for someone who’s been where you are? I’m available to sponsor or help. Call or text me — and come Tuesday. You don’t have to come alone.
To show other alcoholics precisely how we have recovered is the main purpose of this book.
